Qualifying 1: Moh was to do the first qualifying session of the weekend. Unfortunately, he began to struggle with the tyres and his lap was good enough for P21. After the session, a slight team mistake meant that the car was disqualified from the session, meaning the pair would have to start from the very back of the grid.

Race 1: Starting from the back, Moh got a great start and moved up 6 places on the first lap. As the race went on, we kept picking off the cars in front which were struggling with tyre wear. By the end of the first stint Moh was up to P14. As Tom got in the car, he set some blistering times to get on terms with the top 10, again picking cars off as he went. Due to the severity of the track surface, tyre wear played a massive part in the race with cars retiring from the race due to punctures. Tom looked after the tyres perfectly and came home for an amazing recovery drive in P9 overall.

Qualifying 2: Tom went out and managed to luckily get a lap in before a red flag stopped all proceedings, putting Tom on the provisional front row. After the red flag, Tom put another two laps together to put him P9 overall but most crucially P1 BMW on the grid. Knowing the cars pace was very strong, Tom felt very confident going into the final race of the weekend.

Race 2: Tom was on fire in his stint. The fastest car for most of it, he carved his way through the field. A stunning move at the top of the famous waterfall section enabled Tom to eventually get up to P4 overall and then up to P3 with an incident in front putting one of the cars out of the race. Just before the pitstops, Tom was in touching distance of the leaders, putting the FK performance car right in the mix for the overall win. After a great pitstop with 25 mins of the race left, Moh began his quest for a podium. Just losing time behind a slower car in front, he was put out of touch with the lead Aston Martin. After keeping P2 for all of the last stint, Moh was pushed wide on the very last lap of the race, dropping them down to P3 over the line. Still an excellent result after a tough weekend!

Tom's comments: "I'm really happy to earn this podium. The team have put so much hard work and trust in us this year, it's so nice to repay them. We will be back even stronger for the last race at Hockenheim, where we will look to go 2 better."
